Positioned on the Brisbane River, this project involved a small-scale renovation, including the addition of a contemporary glass elevator shaft. The elevator’s simple structure fits seamlessly into the existing conservatory, connecting the main living area to the upstairs level of the house. The pared back palette of the downstairs level creates a blank canvas for the client’s collection of ceramics. To contrast with the simplicity of the elevator extension, the client’s love for colour was injected throughout the upstairs ensuite and master bedroom renovations. The custom bedroom joinery features a combination of stained oak, integrating display areas as well as functional bedside tables. The bathroom makes a statement with black and white geometric tiles imported from Italy, and striking emerald tiles. New York marble is used on the benchtop, as well as a custom shower rail detail.
